Symptoms and complications of peptic ulcer peritonitis

- Stool test
- Upper endoscopy (EGD) is often the final diagnostic test that allows direct visualization of the upper GI tract
- Can take a stomach biopsy to test for H. pylori
Treatment for peptic ulcer peritonitis
Peptic ulcer peritonitis treatment is a combination of medications to reduce gastric acid and help protect and improve the tissues. The patient needs antibiotics if they have an infection. It is necessary to stop the underlying cause of your ulcer. If a patient faces complications such as a perforated ulcer or bleeding ulcer then they might need some additional treatments, like endoscopy, which can treat most of these complications.
